Frilly Socks and Grubs

You know that Ella is a girly girl by the socks she picked out the other day. These are her dressy socks that we bought for a wedding she was in. It was cold one morning and I told her to put some socks on. I heard some yelling and fussing and after asking what was wrong this is what she told me, "My pants are covering up my pretty socks!!!" She was very frustrated. Always the hero, Mom comes to the rescue, and rolls up her pants.

But, this is how we also know that we have a country girl who is not always girly....

She was convinced he was her friend.

Mollasses cookies

Yes, she did actually help.

Daddys are the best!

This lovely dragonfly has broken off it's lighted chandelier ikea type thingy. It hangs over Ella's bed. One night when Jack was putting Ella to bed she asked him to fix it for her. He tinkered with it for a bit then said, "I don't know if this can be fixed Ella." To which Ella adoringly replies,

"Daddy, you can fix anything!!"

Do You Take Cards???

Ella: "Daddy will you play with me?"

Daddy (facetiously): "It depends. How much money do you have?"

Ella, remembering a promotional mileage card laying on the floor, went and retrieved it, then said;

"Do you take cards?"

Baking Bread

We have all been sick with the yuck and can't seem to get over it. It has been weeks! But, we are managing to still have fun, mostly in the house.

Baking whole wheat bread with Daddy,

OOPS!

YUMMY!

Waking Up From Nap

Messy hair and crankiness after a nap.

But, I got her laughing...

and then I got this beautiful picture.

Oscar the Grouch pelt or moldy bear rug???

It has been called both. What do you think?

That's right it is my green shag rug. I think I was blinded by my desire to have some green in the room and something soft for our feet. Well, not only is it ugly, it is not soft! I finally realized that I had been avoiding sitting down on it, because it is so disgusting! It hides all sorts of unknown crumbs and debris, and who knows what else! I think it is when Ben told me it looked like Oscar the Grouch's fur that I was able to see it for what it really was. I am so embarassed now, how many people have come into my house and have had to hide gagging sounds after looking at it??
Well I have put the old one back down. We carried it all the way back from India, so I don't know why that wasn't good enough for me. I like it now. Not perfect, but, it will do. Yes, that shaggy monster rug cost a lot of money. Oh well, you learn from your mistakes.

Princesses Bake Cookies

Our life is so interesting and I know you can't wait to hear about every little detail!

I asked Ella to put on her shoes so we could go to the grocery store.....

Nothing was happening so I told her she better get going or we might not get back in time for her princess friend to come. That got her attention.

And she tried...

For a moment anyway.

Well, she didn't miss her visit from the princess. She came, she played and baked cookies and ate. Fun was had by all.

This morning I got my due in catching the same cold that I made fun of Jack about.
And, now I want sympathy.

Love to you all!

Ella the Artist

Ella has a new hobby.
