That's right it is my green shag rug. I think I was blinded by my desire to have some green in the room and something soft for our feet. Well, not only is it ugly, it is not soft! I finally realized that I had been avoiding sitting down on it, because it is so disgusting! It hides all sorts of unknown crumbs and debris, and who knows what else! I think it is when Ben told me it looked like Oscar the Grouch's fur that I was able to see it for what it really was. I am so embarassed now, how many people have come into my house and have had to hide gagging sounds after looking at it??
Well I have put the old one back down. We carried it all the way back from India, so I don't know why that wasn't good enough for me. I like it now. Not perfect, but, it will do.
